I finished reading The Third Testament by Eklund recently and I thought it was great. I'd include it in my top 10 Catholic fiction favorites (in no particular order):

The Third Testament by John Eklund
Quo Vadis by Henryk Sienkiewicz
A Canticle for Leibowitz by Walter M. Miller
Death Comes for the Archbishop by Willa Cather
The Complete Father Brown by G.K. Chesterton
Mariette in Ecstasy by Ron Hansen
The Joyful Beggar: St. Francis of Assisi by Louis De Wohl
The End of the Affair by Graham Greene
Divine Comedy by Dante Alighieri
The Golden Legend by Jacobus de Voragine

It's a strong faith and that really work. A supreme consciousness is there. Just name and identification change by the religion. Ultimately that all talk about same thing. The "one" who serve all of us without any expectation.
