I love this book a lot. I have now read it three times and I am still not bored when going through it. It's actually the book that converted me to believe that reading could be done for fun. I know there are people out there who didn't enjoy it though. What are your reasons? Or if you did enjoy it I guess you could give reasons as well.
This book proves that evil is a conspiracy!
Screwtape Letters was awesome! I've read it a couple of times and have listened to the audiotape version read by John Cleese even more.
I love how you can be reading it and come across something and think to yourself: "Ouch... that's me." The book really makes you think about a lot of the things you are doing and question them.
That book really needs to be read by as meany people as possible.
I love CS Lewis and have read almost everything by him since I discovered him in college 30 years ago as a new Christian. "Screwtape" is disarmingly funny and keenly insightful and always bears re-reading. This week I'm working through Lewis' "Letters to Malcolm: Chiefly on Prayer" as part of my daily prayer time. Not that I'm reading Lewis devotionally! It's just that his way of looking at things makes me think, and his winsome intelligence and clearheaded conviction, seasoned with humility, reminds me of the powerful ministry one can have as a writer.

C.S Lewis writings are definitely good contemplation that can turn your eyes towards God to have some nice prayer time. I definitely understand what you are saying.
try "The Beginning of the End," by R.E. Kotwica. It is like an action packed "Screwtape Letters."

Looking very nice post. I was looking similar type or information.

I used to wonder how "nice little old ladies" could go to hell. Then I read this book. As one poster already noted, many times I thought "Yikes! That's me!" A great book for Lent - or any time you might need a "kick in the pants"!
I agree on "The Screwtape Letters". There's a reason why it's a classic -- because it's lessons resonate. CS Lewis was masterful at presenting Truth. You can get it both in
book form or
audio -- which I think would be really neat.

Has anyone read the "Snakebite Letters" by Peter Kreeft? He's a big fan of Lewis. Maybe not quite as good as "the master" but a good read nonetheless.
